By listening and learning, we ensure that our work is appropriate and effective in the local context
We are incredibly proud of the work and commitment of all our colleagues at Rwanda Action. Their dedication to delivering (and monitoring) their work is the reason we can see our impact emerging.
This year the impact has been truly heartening, from the early data indicating poverty alleviation in our Building Communities Programme, to the engagement with the Rwandan government on improving teacher training, right through to establishing better inclusion for children in schools – both in training and in bricks and mortar, and more.
We are enormously grateful for the generosity of our supporters. It is thanks to you that we are able to continue our vital mission to relieve
poverty by empowering communities. Thank you.
Analysis was undertaken by Tom Readford, an independent impact specialist for the higher education and charity sectors.
We are very proud of what has been achieved in partnership with RDIS (Rural Development Inter-Diocesan Service) to create five tree nurseries, which led to the distribution of 153,242 tree saplings to individuals and communities.
The benefits of planting and nurturing these saplings will be felt for many years to come including; food, shade, soil improvements, building materials, erosion control, flood prevention, carbon sequestration.
Please do read more in this report and maybe consider a donation to this important work, which will go on supporting people living in rural areas of high poverty.
We are very proud to present our work in 2023 in this report. The team in Rwanda achieve a huge amount to ensure we use our supporters' funds to deliver the most benefit.
Tom Readford, an independent charity data analyst, who worked on the Impact Report said, "It never ceases to amaze me how you get so much done on the budget you have. There's such a breadth and consideration to your programme."
Our mission and how we will take action to achieve our goals over the next three years.
We are very proud of our achievements in 2021, despite it being a challenging year globally.

2020 was a challenging year, finding ways to continue delivering projects during a pandemic and assessing the impact of COVID on poverty stricken communities. Our team in Rwanda showed great resilience and commitment to Rwanda Action's aim of empowering communities to reduce poverty.
2019 was a busy and successful year and I would like to pay particular tribute to our team in Rwanda. The commitment of the team and their understanding of the local context are fundamental to the success of our work. David Chaplin, CEO
