Help us to bring positive change to some of the most disadvantaged people in the world

In Rwanda, a high proportion of people live in extreme poverty. Any donation, however small, helps relieve that poverty and provide opportunities across the districts of Nyamasheke and Rusizi. Regular donations are particularly valuable because they enable us to provide facilities like the Alivera Village, which trains and supports young people with disability to live independently.
You can support Rwanda Action via JustGiving or use PayPal for single or regular donations. We are very grateful for your valuable support to helps empower communities to reduce poverty.
Please do contact us if you would like to hear more about opportunities to make a difference.
Your support can empower young people to gain skills and create their own businesses. Enabling income generation is the most sustainable way to reduce poverty in communities. Please consider supporting young people who are keen to work!

Rwanda Action supports the development of community tree nurseries to provide tree seedlings, which bring great benefits to people struggling to make a living from small plots of land.

Trees allow people to become more self-sufficient by the use and sale of their products - timber, firewood and fruit - and improvements to soil, crops and health. Supporting the tree nurseries can also contribute to mitigating your environmental footprint.
Each community tree nursery produces around 30,000 tree seedlings each year in Rwanda.
The tree nurseries are requested by community members, who then provide the manual work, transport of manure, transplanting seedlings, watering and nurturing seedlings as they grow. Rwanda Action provides funds to purchase materials such as seeds, transplanting pots, manure and watering cans.
Most tree seedlings are distributed free of charge to people in the community. Some grafted fruit trees are sold. The trees are planted on farmer’s smallholdings, roadsides and community woodlots to provide building timber, firewood, fruit to combat malnutrition, soil conservation and income. There are many other direct and indirect benefits from planting trees.
You can support growing trees in Rwanda here.
Thank you for your generous support.
Making a regular donation can help support the children and young people benefitting from our inclusion programme. Rwanda Action's sponsorship programme suppports this work. There is some information below, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to hear more.

How long is my Sponsorship?
There is no fixed commitment.
Can I terminate my Sponsorship?
We understand that circumstances may change, and you can cancel your sponsorship at any time, although we would appreciate you letting us know so we can plan budgets.
How much of my sponsorship money will go to the Alivera Project?
100% of your donation under the sponsorship programme will be spent on the Alivera Project. The Alivera Centre and the Alivera Village support children and young adults living with disability in education, training and work experience. Support is needed for a variety of needs, e.g. educational supplies, training materials, paying for sign language teachers, parents' training, food to supplement what is grown on site, health treatments and medicines.
What feedback and information can I expect?
You will receive three newsletters each year, containing updates and photos from the staff of the Alivera Project, so that you can see how individuals benefit from your generosity.
Can I send a gift to individuals under the sponsorship programme?
Our team in Rwanda asks that sponsors do not send individual gifts as this may cause jealousy. If you would like to donate a gift, we ask that you instead make a donation towards the overall project so that we may extend this help to more children and young adults living with disabilities.
Will I be able to access information through social media?
Whilst we want to keep everyone up to date on our activities via social media, our legal and safeguarding obligations to our beneficiaries inform everything that we do. We will post news stories about The Alivera Project on social media from time to time, where appropriate, but we will not identify individuals other than staff.
Under the terms of the sponsorship, sponsors should refrain from posting photos of beneficiaries or staff of Rwanda Action. This is to respect privacy and to ensure the safety and security of all involved in the Alivera Project.

Fundraising for Rwanda Action can be an exciting and rewarding way to make a difference.
Become a Craft Agent
We are keen to recruit people to sell craft made in the workshops at the Alivera Village, which supports young people living with disability. You can sell in your local community at craft fairs, church/school fetes and so on.
The craft workshops produce wonderful bags, aprons, decorations and greetings cards, which are very popular in the UK, especially in the run-up to Christmas. The proceeds provide an income to the workshops where yyoung people livingw with disability are learning skills and work experience.
